Brake Override Systems for Toyota Vehicles
To prevent unintended acceleration Toyota will be installing brake override systems on all their Toyota, Scion, and Lexus vehicles. The new system was implemented after a sudden recall of reported runaway cars that caused injuries and some deaths. The result was from floor mats becoming lodged under the gas pedals. NHTSA differs though, they said has said the floor mats were not necessarily the only cause. Hopefully this new brake override system will stop the defect!
Muscle Cars Removed from Barrett Jackson Auction
Well it looks like two muscle cars will be removed from the Barrett Jackson auction. A 1971 Hemi Cuda was dropped because the VIN number on the car did not match with the VIN on the title. While a 1958 Impala was declined from the Scottsdale lineup because the consignor of the car said it had been owned by legendary Buddy holly. A background check was done and nothing solid came up to show Buddy Holly actually owned the car.
Dyno Test Video of the Mustang 5.0L V8
Watch this new awesome video of 5.0L V8 in the 2011 Mustang GT. You can tell just by the video, the engine is very powerful. I can’t wait to see how much horsepower this V8 can produce after a company slaps a supercharger on it. We’re talking about 500hp, that’s a lot of power for one modifications. This is one powerful V8.
New 5.0L Engine for the 2011 Mustang GT
New to the Mustang this upcoming year is the 5.0L V8 engine. This is no ordinary 5.0L, not like the previous version. This engine is actually pumping out 412 horsepower and 390 foot pounds of torque. That’s a 100 horsepower increase from last years engine, Ford really brought out the big guns this time. Ford also really cleaned up the engine bay, it almost looks like a BMW engine bay. Nice 5.0L cover for the engine and no grungy looking wires and metal parts in the engine bay. This will go down in Mustang history as one of the best engines ever made.
Finally some of the Hideous Cars get Recognition

Finally some of the hideous cars get recognition at the Concours d’LeMons. It’s be long overdue, especially for the Phantom Hurst Edition Pacer! Other vehicles include custom vans like this picture of this B-Rad looking character and his honey above, come on your know B-Rad from Malibu’s Most Wanted. They used call call these classic vans “shagon wagons” back in the 60s and 70s. The orange and brown pinstripes is what really sets this van apart from the others. Definitely not my type of custom vehicle, but hey, whatever floats your boat. The hobby is all about what you like, not what other people like. That’s the modo I live by! I respecet B-Rad and his shagon wagon!
GM to Expand Buick and Chevrolet

Ever since GM has shed off their two automotive divisions Pontiac and Saturn, I have been wondering where they were going to pick up the loss of sales. Well supposedly Mike DiGiovanni has the answer, he has just reported last Wedensday that GM will be expanding their two major divisions Buick and Chevrolet. Giving a larger model lineup of cars. Hey, maybe they’ll bring back the Grand National. I most likely doubt it though. Along with Buick and Chevy, GM will be concentrating more on Cadillac and GMC brands also. There will be some major restructuring to rejuvenate GM.
Chrysler doubles Cash for Clunkers

Chrysler is offering up to $4500 cash or 0 percent financing for 72 months on most of Chrysler’s 2009 vehicles. That’s doubling the cash for guzzlers incentive offered by our government. Lotus CEO Mike Kimberley is Retiring

Lotus CEO Mike Kimbereley is retiring due to back problems. Mike will turn 71 in August, the man is in second in charge at Lotus and has been SEO since 2006. Under his control, the Lotus sports car has done well in the past and has a future five year growth plan to overcome this tuff economy. Kimberley also worked at other auto companies such as Lamborghini, Tata and General Motors. So he’s had a very long career with cars, sadly it’s time to step down. He will be remembered at true sports car God.
