Brake Override Systems for Toyota Vehicles

To prevent unintended acceleration Toyota will be installing brake override systems on all their Toyota, Scion, and Lexus vehicles. The new system was implemented after a sudden recall of reported runaway cars that caused injuries and some deaths. The result was from floor mats becoming lodged under the gas pedals. NHTSA differs though, they said has said the floor mats were not necessarily the only cause. Hopefully this new brake override system will stop the defect!

Saab 9-5 and 9-3 Models may Cease to Exist

If Saab is to shut down, so will the Saab 9-5 and 9-3, the new models for the Swedish subsidiary. It’s kind of sad because the Saab was always known as a reliable economy car to have. The economy is really taking a toll on GM!

GM Stops Hummer Production

GM will be stopping the production of Hummers at the end of the week. The the huge automaker wants to wait for waits for Chinese regulators to approve the brand’s sale to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company. When the sale has been approved the production of Hummers will start up once again at the Shreveport, La., plant.

Muscle Cars Removed from Barrett Jackson Auction

Well it looks like two muscle cars will be removed from the Barrett Jackson auction. A 1971 Hemi Cuda was dropped because the VIN number on the car did not match with the VIN on the title. While a 1958 Impala was declined from the Scottsdale lineup because the consignor of the car said it had been owned by legendary Buddy holly. A background check was done and nothing solid came up to show Buddy Holly actually owned the car.

Recall for the Chevy Corvettes

Bad news for 05-07 Chevy Corvette owners, NHTSA is issuing a recall for over 22,000 Corvettes equipped with removable roofs. What happens is the glue fails and can’t hold the outer portion of the panel which ends up failing. This can result in flying off while the Corvette car is moving. If you own a Corvette with a targa top call a Chevy Corvette dealers as soon as possible. You can also call the NHTSA hotline at 1-888-327-4236.

Dyno Test Video of the Mustang 5.0L V8

Watch this new awesome video of 5.0L V8 in the 2011 Mustang GT. You can tell just by the video, the engine is very powerful. I can’t wait to see how much horsepower this V8 can produce after a company slaps a supercharger on it. We’re talking about 500hp, that’s a lot of power for one modifications. This is one powerful V8.

Dodge Challenger Appearance Package

I guess Mopar thought the Challenger was a little bland, this must be why they are releasing this incredible appearance package for the Dodge Challenger. The package features a massive hood scoop, go-wing spoiler, and a strobe stripe performance graphic. Overall I think it makes the Challenger beefy as hell, something the Challenger was missing when it was first released. It reminds me of the old Challengers with the hood scoops. The package retails for $1,995, which is really not bad. If you were to do this the aftermarket way, a hood, spoiler and paint job might be more than $2k.

Challenger Camaro Mustang Hybrid

There’s always been a big feud between the GM guys, Mopar guys, and Ford guys. All of them think their car is better, but I think it shouldn’t be that way. All three muscle cars are unique in their own ways. I’m just glad other people think the same way I do. Ford instance Robert D. came up with model of a muscle car that hosts body parts from all three muscle cars: the new Challenger, Mustang, and Camaro. You would think the car would look all deformed and ugly, butter after checking it out it actually looks really cool. Maybe now something like this will bring muscle car fans a little closer.

New 5.0L Engine for the 2011 Mustang GT

New to the Mustang this upcoming year is the 5.0L V8 engine. This is no ordinary 5.0L, not like the previous version. This engine is actually pumping out 412 horsepower and 390 foot pounds of torque. That’s a 100 horsepower increase from last years engine, Ford really brought out the big guns this time. Ford also really cleaned up the engine bay, it almost looks like a BMW engine bay. Nice 5.0L cover for the engine and no grungy looking wires and metal parts in the engine bay. This will go down in Mustang history as one of the best engines ever made.

454 Camaro doing some Drifting

Remember the old muscle cars back in the day, remember how powerful they were. Well check out this beast of a car, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro doing some drifting and donuts all around town. It’s amazing how powerful this muscle car is. Under the hood of the Camaro is a 454 engine.
